Luxury cheap hotels

Is there such a thing as an affordable luxury hotel? If there is I definitely want to know about it. I’m taking my partner away for an anniversary surprise and, of course, I want it to be really special. We haven’t got a huge amount of spare cash at the moment, though. I’m hoping that I can find some good luxury but cheap hotels that will offer us a good service in nice surroundings but for a reasonable price. We’re not massively fussy people. I don’t mind about whether the hotel has a huge range of sports on offer or whether it has loads of restaurants onsite etc.
