Fire Door Features

Combinatorial Fire Doors which must have astragals must possess at least a sole astragal which overlaps. Couplets of doors within the boundaries of an outlet shall not be installed with an astragal if it hinders the open use of one of the leaves. To be certain of complete closing, a coordinator, or maybe an open-back strike must be implemented. High quality metal should be used in the glass frame and glazing bead if a glass frame is built in the door.

Such a door should be free of any obstructions which could prevent the door from operating properly. The wedge door stops, chains, hookbacks, and hinges will have to be oiled regularly etc. Only listed door hardware shall be used, or legal action may be taken. This door must have steel bearing-type hinges, but non-bearing plain steel hinges may be used if they are part of a listed assembly.
