Plexiglass Shower Doors Don’t Break

I am trying to decide between new glass shower doors, or the new Plexiglass Shower Doors. I am concerned about my rowdy children in the bathroom with that much glass. If one of the boys pushed the other one into the shower door and it fell out of the frame, would there be broken glass all over the place? Will the plexiglass shower doors last as long as glass and not get scratched up and cloudy? These considerations make it hard for me to decide between the two types of doors. My husband says “go for the plexiglass, it is safer”.
