I Get to Give the Wedding Speech in the School Play

I am enjoying the prospect of playing the lead role in our high school theatre production, even if I am the father of the bride in the wedding scene. I pretend not to want her to marry this young man and do everything I can to break up the relationship. Parts of the play are really funny. In the final wedding speech, I redeem myself before everyone and win back the love of my very frustrated wife and daughter. I am not the main character, but I have lots of lines and time on stage. I certainly hope that I can do justice to the part.
